Paramount has released a new publicity still from M. Night Shyamalan's The Last Airbender film that is based on Nickelodeon's Avatar animated television series.
The still shows Airbender Aang (Noah Ringer) preparing to square off against a hoard of enemy soldiers wielding a variety of blades. Though obscured slightly due to the image's depth, this is the first good look we have had at who Aang will be using his skills and powers against.
The Last Airbender co-starring Jackson Rathbone (The Twilight Saga: Eclipse) and Dev Patel (Slumdog Millionaire) will arrive in theaters on July 2. The first new footage since the teaser trailer is expected to air during the Superbowl this upcoming Sunday, February 7. get more info Here

TheLast Airbender: Character Posters & Trailer Date Confirmed

There’s not been too much marketing for M.Night Shyamalan’s adaptation of the award-winning cartoon Avatar: The Last Airbender, especially with the fact that the full trailer was pushed back from its originally planned Christmas release until February. But now thanks to Yahoo, we have the first two official one-sheets for the flick alongside confirmation from producer Frank Marshall for when we’ll finally see the full trailer for The Last Airbender.
And the end of 2009 – it was only a few weeks ago, really – we reported on some scans that hit the net from a recent issue of Empire magazine. These images depicted some behind-the-scenes goodies from the production of The Last Airbender and they looked really cool.
It wasn’t that much, but now we have more in the form of two brand new posters; One features the title character of Aang (played by Noah Ringer) and the other features his nemesis, Dev Patel as Prince Zuko.
The details of the background and of the special effect of the air/smoke are what get me excited. get more info Here

This is a film that’s found itself on the sh*tty end of the fan stick. It’s an adaptation of the popular animated series, Avatar: The Last Airbender and will feature a novice actor named Noah Ringer as the hero, Aang. The majority of the characters in the film are supposed to be of Asian decent, but all the actors don’t fit that bill. Everyone wants to see if the people M. Night Shyamalan chose have what it takes to pull of their roles.
